Are your products suitable for all ages?

Herveda Botanicals products are all natural, cruelty free, free from harmful chemicals, preservatives, dyes and artificial fragrances and can be used by persons above 18 years of age, unless mentioned otherwise. 

Do you conduct Animal Testing?

We do not conduct animal testing on our products or ingredients, nor ask others to test on our behalf, except when required by law. We evaluate our finished products in clinical tests on volunteer panels to ensure complete consumer health and safety.

What does the Marigold Hydration Mist do?

It helps with skin hydration and plumpness. The Herveda Marigold Hydration mist infuses skin cells with water to improve the skin’s ability to absorb moisture and nutrients. My face tingles while using the Vitamin C and E serum, what does it mean?

Our Vitamin C &E serum is formulated with the natural form of Vitamin C i.e. L-ascorbic acid which helps to boost collagen production, smooth and firm skin, and prevent photo-ageing along with vitamin E to enhance its efficacy. The L- ascorbic acid when penetrated into the skin, triggers the skin to produce more collagen which makes the skin tingle. 

My serum changes colors. What does it mean?

Vitamin C serums are highly vulnerable to heat, air and light exposure and thus changes color when exposed to these. However, change in color does not mean change in potency. We have run four months of stability tests for our C and E serum in our lab which showed the product retained its potency throughout. 

Why is Herveda’s Vitamin C & E Serum’s consistency whitish yellow?

It is normal for the most potent form of Vitamin C (natural L-ascorbic acid) to change colours overtime to a creamy yellowish tone. The white hues in our serum comes from the use of natural phospholipids, derived from sunflowers, which enhances the overall health, elasticity and plumpness of the skin. The serum is scientifically stabilized using various plant extracts and is tested to ensure that its performance and stability stays intact even with slight colour changes. For best results, we recommend shaking the serum bottle well before every use so that the phospholipids suspended in the serum are evenly distributed and store it in a cool dark place.

What is the concentration and the form of the Vitamin C and E Serum?

We offer both 10% and 15% of the most potent form of Vitamin C, i.e. natural L-ascorbic acid in our serum which consists of superior antioxidant properties that capture free radicals on the surface of the skin.

When can I use the Vitamin C and E Serum for best results?

Our serum can be used both during the day and/or night time. However, always apply sunscreen during the day time.

What is the concentration of Niacinamide in your Daily Defense Moisturizer?

Our Daily Defense Moisturizer has 5% niacinamide in it. It also has vitamin E, rich chiuri butter, beeswax, natural phospholipids and herbals extracts to effectively strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier and protect the skin from daily environmental stresses.

What does Herveda's Age-Perfect Night Concentrate do?

What is the use of essential oils?

Essential oils are extracts from different plant parts usually obtained through steam distillation. Essential oils can contain various natural compounds that have medicinal properties like antibacterial, anti inflammatory, anti-oxidant, etc.

Have your essential oils been tested on animals?

No. All Herveda Botanicals’ products are cruelty free. However, we test the composition of essential oils for purity.

Why is quality so important with essential oils?

Essential oil quality is important to obtain optimal benefits and to prevent side effects from adulteration.

How long do essential oils last?

Pure essential oils do not go rancid and they don’t really have a hard set expiration date. Over time, however, essential oils can oxidize, deteriorate and gradually lose their therapeutic value and aromatic quality. The shelf life of EOs can vary based on the distillation methods, harvest region and techniques, bottling, storage and handling conditions. As a rule of thumb, generally pure EOs if stored properly can have shelf life from 1-2 years up to even 8 years, depending on the active constituents. The shelf life of essential oils can extend if stored in a cool  and dark place.

Are all essential oils that you sell, child safe and pet friendly?

No.  Please keep away pure EOs from children and pets. EOs should be used only after dilution within the dermal limit. The dermal limit for adults is very different than for children and for pregnant women.

What are essential oils and how are they made?

Essential oils are one form of plant extracts that are mostly produced by steam distillation of various parts of plants like leaves, stem, flowers, fruits, etc.  EOs contain various compounds from the plants in concentrated forms that can have various medicinal and aromatic properties.  Pure EOs can be used in various ways while following their safety guidelines.

What is a carrier oil?

Carrier oil is a vegetable oil derived from the fatty portion of a plant, usually from the seeds, kernels or the nuts. EOs can cause irritation and skin sensitization if used undiluted, so the carrier oils are used to dilute EOs for topical applications, thus the name “carrier oil” to carry EOs into skin.

How do I store the essential oils?

It’s best to store EOs in cool and dark place, even better if they are stored in a refrigerator.

Are your essential oils 100% pure with no additives?

Yes, Herveda Botanicals’ EOs are 100% pure without any additives. We source most of our essential oils directly from the farmers or farmer cooperatives.

Are your essential oils therapeutic grade?

Since there is no organization that oversees the quality of essential oils, ‘Therapeutic Grade’ is simply a marketing term. Any company can say their oils are therapeutic grade. 

Can your essential oils be used internally?

No.  We do not recommend you to use EOs internally, unless you are a trained professional and have full understanding of EOs’ chemistry, benefits, toxicity, and side effects.

Do you offer samples?

We have samples at the store that our customers can try before purchase.

How do I change or cancel my order?

If you would like to change/cancel an order after it has been placed, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your request. However, if the order is already in the processing, we regret that it cannot be changed or canceled.

How long does it take for my order to be delivered?

We dispatch the orders from Sunday to Friday. If you want your purchase to be delivered inside Kathmandu Valley, you will be receiving your order on the very next day after the order has been confirmed. If you live outside Kathmandu valley, the delivery time and cost will be communicated to you during the time of order. 

My item arrived damaged. What should I do now?

If you received damaged merchandise, please retain the box, packaging and all contents and contact us as soon as possible for assistance.
